Dear Fishing Club Members (FCM’s) and Guests, We had a great presentation from Tonie Bangos in April! It was her first time speaking to a fishing club, but she could have fooled me! She did great! It was interesting to hear her history, her hard work as a deckhand, and her involvement in CCA. Next up for May is Art Taylor from the Searcher! This is a great boat that I’ve been on a couple of times, once during the Albacore days - we were non stop on fish for hours! The captain invited us all to the wheelhouse if we wanted to see a huge school of tuna sitting under us, like we were a giant kelp paddy! There is going to be a lot of great information in this newsletter, so please take some time to read it all. I find it amazing when people say that they didn’t hear or know about this or that when it was already announced in our newsletter. Something we did in the past was a raffle ticket giveaway to the person who could answer a trivia question, the answer only to be found in the newsletter. So, I’m going to do that again this year! Keep reading, you’ll know when you find it, then let the sign-in table know the answer when you arrive! You will want to write it down on a piece of paper and put it in your wallet so you remember that answer!. It was very unfortunate that our Bottom Fish Tournament was postponed for a week. I specifically picked that date to fish because it had the perfect tide change and moon phase for success! But, safety prevails!! Wind gusts up to 25 knots, with a mixed swell of 4’ from the South and 3’ from the Northwest were not sound conditions! My chiropractor would not have been happy with me!!! I am hoping my secret spot pays off for me, especially with Ling Cod! We have had great success with our new members because of the Bart Hall Show and, more recently, Day at the Docks!
